APLUS was founded in 1998 to provide a first-rate supplemental education to students with high aspirations. The APLUS program is best known for its (1) highly qualified teachers, (2) small class size, and (3) advanced curricula. Courses are offered year-round and include elementary mathematics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, critical reading and writing, grammar, writing workshops, SAT and PSAT prep, private school entrance prep (ISEE or SSAT), and magnet school prep.
Academic Summer Camp
Since 1999, APLUS academic summer camp has been known for its excellent quality in both teachers and curriculum. A variety of course choices are offered. Whether to advance or to improve their academic ability, students will find the academic summer camp very helpful. That is the very reason why there are more than 600 students enrolled in APLUS summer camp every year.
All of our teachers are professional teachers who are highly qualified to teach in their subject areas. Most of them have extensive professional teaching experience and work in many renowned educational programs, including the Gifted and Talented, Honors, Magnet, and International Baccalaureate programs in private or public school systems. This group of highly qualified professional teachers is what distinguishes APLUS from other learning centers.
APLUS courses were designed to immerse students in a competitive and accelerated learning environment in order to enhance their academic abilities. These advanced curricula provide excellent opportunities for students seeking higher academic challenges to fully develop their skills.
Since 1998, APLUS programs have helped thousands of students achieve their academic goals. In 2019 Spring, students in our highly competitive 8th Grade Test Strategy Preparation Program achieved a remarkable success record and received a total of 280 acceptances (including waiting) from prestigious magnet high schools in Maryland. The aggregate passing ratio is about 62%.
